Narrator: To say I grew up in one place would be a flat out lie, as a child of divorce, my life was spent torn between two places. However my most formidable years were spent in the quaint town of Clayton, Georgia. A place where the mountains reach up to hug the sky, where the cool breeze softly grazes your face, a place where as the locals say "spring spends the summer". My name is Asa James Miller. I am a mix of many European countries, you mix snow with bleach and somewhere in that mixture you'd find my family. I grew up, in many places ; Mountain city right in the valley, or perhaps you'd like to hear about my time living with these wonderful people who from the kindness and grace of their hearts let us live with them for nearly eight months rent free. The place that always remained central, however was Rabun County Georgia, the place I went to school, and the place where I spent my high school years. The strongest person I knew, my mother was the lioness of Clayton. That woman could endure tremendous emotional pain and still come back fighting.
Mother: Alright Now! Yo' mama don't work all day to come home to none of that nonsense. You hush yo' punk ass up and finish your homework!
Narrator: Life was stressful. But I always kept my head up. You've got to when you want to work on getting out of the lower class. I spent a lot, and I mean a lot of time with my friends. We were thick as thieves, the three of us. Years later I'm sure I'll look back on those times and laugh at how simple they were but to me they meant a lot, still do.
